D.D. “Red” Qualls, 81, of Lake City, died Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2009, at NEA Baptist Hospital.
Born in Evening Shade, Red lived in Monette before moving to Lake City where he was a retired farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City.
Red was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge and the Craighead County Farm Bureau. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Qualls, and by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughter-in-law: Terry Qualls of Jonesboro and Danny and Rhonda Qualls of Lake City; and 1 granddaughter, Kelsey Qualls of Springdale.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers include Toby Emerson, Mike Hook, Ronnie Qualls, Jim Ladd,
Lewis Ladd, and Len B. Nall.
Honorary pallbearers include Danny Finch, Allen Finch, Blake Robertson,
Mike Huffman, Glenn Qualls, Gary Qualls, Arlon Woodruff, Mark Haggenmacher and Greg Womack.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
