Daylen "Dayday" Elijah Thomas

December 20, 2008 — July 3, 2025

Different, Not Less .”

Daylen “Dayday” Elijah Thomas, 16, of Jonesboro, passed away on July 3, 2025, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 20, 2008, in Forrest City, Arkansas, to Tarrangula Thomas and Calvin Thomas.

Dayday was a sweet, respectful son and a protective brother. He was full of life, laughter, and love — with a smile that could brighten any room. Dayday adored his iPad, cherished all things Elmo, and found joy in the simple things. Some of his happiest moments were spent alongside his younger sister, Laylah, with whom he shared a special bond.

Dayday attended Jonesboro High School where he had just completed his sophomore year. He was proud to take part in the Special Olympics in the Jonesboro area, where his spirit and determination shined. Though his time here was far too short, the 16 years we had with Dayday were filled with love, light, and unforgettable memories.

Dayday was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cecil B. Thomas, and grandmothers: Valerie Walton and Zettie Mae Thomas.

He is survived by his parents, Calvin Thomas: Cedric and Tarrangula Hill; his sisters, Laylah Thomas and Yasmine Bryant; bonus brothers, Braxton and Jaxson Hill. He also leaves behind his bonus grandmother, Bernice Hill, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close family friends who will miss him deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home, with Fredric Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Pallbearers being Matthew Thomas, Nathaniel Thomas, Tyrone Thomas, Carey Thomas, Carl Ingram, Tanner Lloyd, Gabriel Davis Sr., Cedric Parham Jr.

Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., prior to the service

In honor of Dayday, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to 80/20 Learning for Autism, 1805 Executive Square, Jonesboro, AR 72401.
