David Wright

David Mahan Wright, 66, of Jonesboro, Ar, left for “the spirit in the sky” on Friday, February 19, 2021.

He was born in Honolulu, HI on Feb 4, 1955 to WWII US Navy Veteran Carol Wright, USN WASP. David was a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas (BS Bacteriology). He then enrolled at the Texas Heart Institute (School of Perfusion) in 1980 and graduated at the top of his class.

While in college David was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.  He started his Perfusion career in Columbia, SC at Lexington Medical Center. He was a long time member of the VFW Auxiliary and Elks Lodge in Jonesboro. David helped start Delta Perfusion in Memphis, TN. He was a long time member of the American Society of Extracorporeal Technology and the The American Academy of Cardiovascular Perfusion.

He is survived by his loving family of two sons Chris and Jason, and his two grandchildren whom he adored, Jasper and Stella.

David’s happiest memories were made at Edisto Island in South Carolina with his family and friends where he always found the largest and the most shark’s teeth.

A visitation service will be held at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4pm to 5pm.
