David Michael Wolf, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, surrounded by family.
David was born on December 31, 1947, in Detroit, MI, to the late Ronald and Norma Johnson Wolf. He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Poppe Wolf; his son, Kris Wolf and wife Jill of Jonesboro; his daughter, Kara Wolf Collins and husband Michael of Fort Worth, TX; and four cherished grandchildren: Sydney, Dylan, and Myles of Jonesboro, and Adelaide of Fort Worth.
He is also survived by his sister, Ronni Delle Wolf Geary and husband Denny of Livonia, MI; his brother, Tim Wolf and wife Renee of Houston, TX; and a number of nephews and nieces. David was preceded in death by his parents, formerly of Sikeston, MO; and his twin brother, Larry Wolf of Memphis, TN.
A devoted Christian, David's life was grounded in faith and marked by a deep love for God and the Church. He was a faithful husband, loving father and grandfather, devoted brother, trusted friend, and dedicated teacher. Known for his kind heart, helping hands, and wonderful sense of humor, David brought warmth and joy to those around him.
Those who knew him will remember his unwavering love for the Lord, his devotion to family and friends, and his genuine care for the countless students whose lives he touched throughout his years as an educator. He delighted in making others laugh, had a special love for animals, enjoyed a good game of chess, and took pride in his unique collection of letter openers.
One of David's greatest joys and most meaningful accomplishments was serving as an Elder at Nettleton Church of Christ for close to three decades. Through his leadership, wisdom, and servant's heart, he became a source of encouragement and guidance to many. David was also actively involved in his community’s youth programs coaching for the Children’s Colony and Special Olympics and leading the Nettleton Church Youth Group. He enthusiastically supported his children and grandchildren in their sporting events and other activities. In his younger years, David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, Air Force Reserves and the Army Reserves as a Sergeant.
David's legacy is one of steadfast faith, selfless service, and enduring love. He lived a life that pointed others toward Christ and demonstrated the importance of family, compassion, and integrity. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
