David Wayne "Wild" Shelton, 59, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at The Regional One Medical Center in Memphis from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident on July 14 in Craighead County.
David was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro and worked several years at Arkansas Glass Company in Jonesboro. He enjoyed hunting and loved to collect knives and guns. David also enjoyed spending time with his motorcycle friends and rode many miles with them including annual trips to Sturgis, South Dakota.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents: Louis and Christine Woods and W.T. and Dollie Shelton, and his sister-in-law, Peggy Shelton.
Survivors include his mother, Wilma Shelton Inmon of Jonesboro;
his father and mother: David S. and Vada Shelton of Goobertown;
3 brothers and their wives: Kenny Shelton, Rick and Cathy Painter and Tim and Dianna Henry, all of Jonesboro;
1 sister and her husband, Dedra and Doug Duff of Jonesboro;
Special aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins;
his beloved canine companion, "Smokie," and
His extended family, a band of brothers and very special friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday in Emerson Funeral Home.
A graveside funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with David's uncles Jerry Shelton and Thomas Shelton presiding.
