David L. Oesterblad

David L. Oesterblad, 76, of Jonesboro, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at his home.

Born in San Bernardino, California, David lived in Chicago before moving to Jonesboro 30 years ago. David brought the first Arby's Restaurant to Jonesboro and operated it for several years before moving into full time property investments and management.

David was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, attended the Lutheran Church and was a past member of University Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his parents: Chester Oesterblad and Dorothy Gibbs and a sister, Carol Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Oesterblad of the home;
3 sons: David R. Oesterblad, Jr. of Scottsdale, Arizona, Brent Oesterblad of Arizona and Troy Oesterblad (Roseann) of Chicago;
2 daughters: Denyc Yarbrough (William) and Denay Duckworth (Chad), all of Jonesboro;
1 brother, Donald Monroe of Missouri;
14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, in the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye with Rev. Larry Bailey officiating.  The U.S. Army Honor Guard will provide military honors.  There will be no visitation.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
