David Mote Sr.

David Mote Sr., 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, May 14, 2015 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. David was born on October 3, 1928 to the late Virgil and Aurilla Mote in Oil Trough, Arkansas. He was a Deacon for many years at the Providence Baptist Church in Jonesboro. David loved fishing, hunting and especially his St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Mote; daughter, Wilma Jean Mote; granddaughter, Kelly Mote; 2 brothers: Sonny Mote, Lee Mote; and 1 sister, Virgie Hamilton.

Survivors include his son, David Mote Jr. (Pam) of Jonesboro; 2 brothers: Gene Mote, Dean Mote; 4 sisters: Gloria Stearman, Lavada Settels, Charlene Miller, Mary Lou Casey; 1 grandson, Daniel Mote and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with his son David Mote Jr. and Leroy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery with active pallbearers being Tim Rodney, Brian Fletcher, Nick Davis, Charlie Davis, Curt Brown, and Chris Lee. The honorary pallbearers include: Dylan Mote, Tanner Mote, and Colby Mote.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
