David M. Christopher, 60, of Bono, died Saturday at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born in Smithville, David lived in Arizona before moving to Jonesboro in 1984 and then to Bono recently. He served 16 years active duty in the U.S. Army before being medically discharged from injuries received in combat. David was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 101st Airborne Division.
David was a member of Community Fellowship Church in Jonesboro, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Clyde and Mildred Morgan Christopher, and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Monica Christopher of the home;
3 sons: Sean Christopher of Bono, Jason Christopher of Cabot, and Brian Christopher of Dermott;
2 daughters: Dawn Elias and Tiffany Christopher, both of Jonesboro;
2 sisters: Donna Shelby of Jonesboro and Judy Willfon of Russellville; and
14 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dave Burgess officiating. Burial will be private.
The Craighead County Veterans Honor Guard will serve as honorary pallbearers and provide military honors.
Visitation will follow the service in the chapel.
