David Lewis Martin

David L. Martin, 56, of rural Jonesboro, died Sunday at his home.

Born in Alleghany County, Virginia, David moved to Jonesboro in 1980 and previously worked as a police officer and Emergency Medical Technician. David served as Ombudsman for Northeast Arkansas Area Agency on Aging with 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents: Eddie and Virginia Grady Martin.

Survivors include:
His wife: Wilma Martin of the home;

3 sons: Billy Martin of Brookland,
Matthew Martin of Pearisburg, Virginia, and
Ivan Martin of Montana;

1 sister: Donna Fox of Covington, Virginia;

5 Grandchildren; and

Several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Visitation will be held from 5-7, prior to the service.

The family requests that in memory of David, consider taking an elderly family member or elderly friend to dinner soon.
