David L. Doyle

June 21, 1934 — May 10, 2017

David L. Doyle, 82, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Arbor Grove in Lawrence County and lived most of his life in Northeast Arkansas. After retiring as a Lt. Colonel in the US Army, he moved to Jonesboro in 1977. David was a member of Central Baptist Church and worked in the Special Ministries Program. While living in Jonesboro, he also retired from Roadway Trucking as the Garage Operations Manager. His passion was music! He enjoyed playing the guitar, piano and singing. He was preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Doyle; his parents and one sister.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathryn, of the home; son, Mike Doyle (Koy) of Bangkok, Thailand; daughters, Lisa Doyle, of the home; Angie Liggett (Don) of Jonesboro; brother, Bob Doyle of Forrest City; grandchildren, Leslie Edwards, Rachel Doyle, Chris Goodman, Jessica Doyle, Amber Stone and April Bollinger; great grandchildren, Olivia Edwards, Van Stone and Barron Bollinger.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Central Baptist Church with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Cooper, Harry Puddhephatt, Larry McNair, Central Baptist Special Ministries and the Burgess Life Group. All other services will be private.
