David Lee “Gunner” Kelley, 63, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday, September 06, 2015. He was born in Jonesboro on September 17, 1951 to Robert Kelley Jr. and Juanita (Lamberson) Kelley. David graduated from Bay High School in 1969 before joining the Air Force and serving during the Vietnam War. Gunner enjoyed building anything with his hands, especially model and remote control air planes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Juanita Kelley Jr.; sister, Doris Stevens; grandparents, Robert and Katie (Bratton) Kelley Sr. and Corbett and Hattie (Storey) Lamberson.
David is survived by his daughters, Kim Smith (Randy) of Charleston, Mississippi and Lindsey Kelley of Jonesboro; brothers, Bill Kelley (Brenda) of Paragould and Steve Kelley (Rhonda) of Trumann; grandchildren, Jordan Ferguson (Justin) and Leila Smith. He is also survived by his loving ex-wife Cynthia Kelley and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Wyndell King officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Rick Metcalf, Steve Holt, Lannie Scott, Dean Mote, Keith Wheaton, and Jerry “Butch” Yeager.
The honorary pallbearers are Dean Kee, Barry Lamberson, Terry Lamberson, Steve McGowan and Roger Kelley.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
