David Allen Jones

David Allen “DJ” Jones, 69, of Powhatan, passed away on March 5, 2024 at UAMS in Little Rock. DJ was born on August 6, 1954 in Walnut Ridge to James Jones and Maedell Tunstill Jones.

DJ served his country in the United States Army and then built his career as a truck driver, retiring after 38 years. He loved the Lord and was of the Baptist belief. DJ found joy while riding his Harley and spending time with his beloved dog, Malcom. Above all else, DJ loved his family and especially enjoyed his time with his grandkids.

DJ is preceded in death by his parents, James Jones and Molly Evans; and three sisters, Kathy Kole, Peggy Jane and Rebecca Jones.

He is survived by his special friend, Dorothy Winters of Jonesboro; son, James Jones of Powhattan; two daughters, Elizabeth (Douglas) Pickard of Jonesboro, and Ammie Hall of Beebe; and many beloved family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Brookland United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Jimmy Tunstill officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
