David Hood Sr.

David W. Hood Sr., 63, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St Bernard’s Medical Center.  He was born to Donald and Shirley Hood on May 31, 1956 in Aurora, Illinois. He was a loving and caring person and devoted his life to serving his family and grandchildren.  David enjoyed being around family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Hood; and father, Donald Hood.

Survivors include his sons, Kevin Holderfield (Lisa) of Jonesboro; David Hood Jr., (Lisa) of Lake City; Bondie Hood of Texarkana, Texas; daughters, Annessa Armour (Brad) of Sheridan, Illinois; Sheila Higgins; Sarah Hood, both of Jonesboro; brothers, Eddie Hood (Sue) of Montgomery. Illinois, Donnie Hood (Pauline) of Aurora, Illinois, Bradley Hood of Marco Island, Florida, Steve Hood of Jonesboro, and Roger Hood of Jonesboro; sister, Angie Hood of Jonesboro. David also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
