David Lee Allen, 60, of Wynne passed away on December 17, 2016 at his home. He was born on August 29, 1956 in Cross County Hospital to the late Ira Lee and Myrtle Mae Ridley Allen. David was a 1974 graduate of Wynne High School playing yellow jackets football and baseball for Cross Co. Bank, Servco Ins. Agency and Caldwell Pharmacy teams. He attended EACC in Forrest City and ASU in Jonesboro, where he received his business degree. On May12, 1978 he married Rita Davis Hagler at the home of his cousin, Kathy Boeckman in Wynne. His many accomplishments are credited to being raised on his grandparent’s farm with the guidance of his uncle George Tutor, where he fell in love with farming.
David was always able to command anyone’s attention because he could build, fix or do any job given to him. Following in his Pop-Paw Ridley’s footsteps he was an avid hunter and at one time a duck hunting guide. His passions were his job at Helena Chemical Co., his music and playing the drums. He loved watching the sunrise and making the most of each day by enjoying being a father, Pop-Paw and friend always being involved in their lives supporting and respecting each. David was a member of the McElory United Methodist Church. He was an amazing husband who believed in the power of God’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ross Sr. and Myrtle Marie Hodges Allen, Martin and Rachael Ann Walker Ridley.
