David M. Agnew, 62, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday January 15, 2018 at the NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born in Bethel Springs, Tennessee on December 6, 1955 to Jack and Rachel Maxedon Agnew. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1990, moving here from Lincoln, Nebraska. David was a Professor of Agriculture Education at Arkansas State University and a member of Friendly Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; Jack Agnew in 2003.

Survived by his wife; Nelvia Agnew of the home.

Sons; John and James Agnew both of Jonesboro.

Mother; Rachel Maxedon Agnew of Bethel Springs, Tennessee.

Sister; Wanda Agnew Perrigo (Lewis) of Bethel Springs, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday January 18, 2018 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bobby Barnett and Father Phillip Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Hill Memory Garden in Bethel Springs, Tennessee with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 17, 2018 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

A second visitation will be held from 3-4:00 p.m. on Thursday January 18, 2018 at the Shackelford Funeral Home 160 Cypress Ave, Selmer, TN • (731) 645-3481) with burial to follow in the Lake Hill Memory Garden Cemetery in Bethel Springs, Tennessee with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Friendly Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 4015 Friendly Hope Road Jonesboro, Arkansas 72404 or to the Buena Vista United Methodist Church Tull Rd, Bethel Springs, Tennessee, United States 38379.
