Lee “Darrell” Floyd, 72, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, July 26, 2019. He was born to the late Lee and Dollie Floyd in Jonesboro on May 5, 1947. Darrell and his family owned and operated Lee Floyd and Son Grocery for 20 years. He also raised cattle and worked for Tractor Supply for many years. Darrell served as Captain of the Craighead County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol for several years. Through the mounted patrol he was the Chairman of St. Jude’s Trail Ride, enjoyed working with the mounted patrol’s Miracle Rodeo, and helping with the Mounted Patrol’s High School Rodeo. Darrell was a member of Christian Valley Christian Church and enjoyed hunting fishing, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Floyd Coleman.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sue Floyd of the home; son, Steve Floyd of Jonesboro; daughter, Lisa Bowers (Mark) of Jonesboro
There will be a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Keller’s Chapel Cemetery with Mitch Ford and Bob Barnett officiating. The honorary pallbearers are Terry Wilkinson, Dwight Tosh, Greyson Sanders, Chad Puckett, Haley Pigue, Kevin Liles, Drew Liles, Tanner Liles, Norman Bowers, and Bill Moore.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Arkansas Sheriff’s Ranch, P.O. Box 3964, Batesville, AR 72503.
