Danny Ray Gillespie

Danny Ray Gillespie, 68, of Trumann passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born July 24, 1952 in Maceo, Kentucky to the late Charles and Nina Pearl Gillespie.

Danny has lived in Trumann for 3 years after moving from Snow Lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing video games. Danny served our great country in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Merry Gillespie.

He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Gillespie of Oakland, California, Daniel Macias of Trumann and Franklin Ivy of Trumann; daughters, Iris Ivy of Mellwood and Tona Marie Jacobsen of Memphis, Tennessee; brothers, Randy Gillespie of Beebe and Robert Gillespie; sister, Lisa Gillespie of Beebe; grandchildren, Tacara Macias of Trumann, Daniel Macias Jr. of Trumann, Hollie Byndom of Mellwood, Devin Clairday of Jonesboro, Ashley Marshall of Jonesboro, Andrew Johnson of Des Arc, Bailey Clairday of Louisiana, Trevor Thompson of Walnut Ridge, Trace, Chase and Cecil Ivy all of Trumann as well as 6 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday May 29, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
