Danny Gene Rodgers

Danny Gene "Beaver" Rodgers, 60, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at The Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Born in Jonesboro, Danny lived in Bay until moving to Jonesboro 39 years ago. He was a 1971 graduate of Bay High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Danny was a truck driver and enjoyed history, specifically military history, and working in his yard. Danny was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Marvelene Elrod Rodgers and a brother Billy Rodgers.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Martha Rodgers of the home;

1 son and daughter-in-law: Phillip and Geneva Rodgers of Jonesboro;

1 brother, Marty Rodgers of Jonesboro; and

2 grandchildren, Tyson Rodgers and Lauren Rodgers.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Phillip Rodgers officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Roger Patterson, Johnny Gillian, Carbert Rodgers, Elbert Bradford, James Ishmael, Richard Ishmael, Jerry Rodgers and Donny Rodgers.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.in Emerson Chapel.
