Danny Ray Emison, 72, of Jonesboro passed from this life Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born to the late A.F. and Geraldine Emison in Little Rock on April 5, 1946.
Danny owned and operated Emison Farm Equipment in Smithville for many years. Danny served on the Jonesboro Police Department from 1973 until 1989 and retired as an Assistant Chief of Police.
In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his great grandson, Isaiah Powell.
Danny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan, of the home; daughter: Jill Emison Powell; two sons: Michael Ray (Debbie) Emison of Smithville and Brian (Erica) Emison of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren: Tyler Powell of Jonesboro, Andrew Powell of Jonesboro, Sarah Butler of Rogers, Amanda Emison of Little Rock, Molly Emison of Smithville, Ridge Emison of Jonesboro, and Hayes Emison of Jonesboro; and five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Emerson Funeral Home with Dr. Johnny Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with active pallbearers being: Todd Emison, John Howard, Mark Johnson, Jerry Foley, Mike Emison, and Dallas Benson.
