Danny Lee Deal

Danny L. Deal, 69, of Jonesboro died Thursday October 4, 2012 at NEA Baptist Hospital with his family at his side.

Danny was born on August 28, 1943 to the late James Wilburn and Edna Mae Smith Deal in Newton, NC. After high school he served his country by joining the National Guard in 1961, and later going full time in the Navy in 1968. While in the Navy he did several tours during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Scotland, Diego Garcia, Souda Bay, Guam, and Salt Lake City, UT. He retired from the Navy in 1990. He loved browsing at Wal-Mart/Sam's, walking his dogs, playing sports, loved to joke around with anyone with whom he came in contact. Dan had attended on occasion and was friends with many members of the Brookland Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Jackie Renee Deal, and his brother Willard Deal.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Foster Deal of the home; one son, Daniel Deal of Jonesboro; two daughters, Kelly Deal Berry and husband J.R. of Everett, WA, Becky Dellinger and daughter Morgan Kelly (Dan's granddaughter) of North Carolina; and a sister Alice Jenkins (husband Carl) of North Carolina.

Graveside Service will be at 1pm Monday, October 8th, at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye, Cherry Valley. AR. with full military honors, with John Mark Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Dooley, Lowell Gragg, Joe Yancey, Price Parsons, Granville Guest and Jerry Hatley.
