Daniel J. Minton

November 25, 1934 — June 8, 2010

Daniel J. Minton, 75, of Bono, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Daniel was born in Bono and lived most of his life there. He was a retired brick mason and worked several years for the D.T. Allen Company. Daniel was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

Daniel was a past member of the Jonesboro Elks Lodge and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed wood carving and making hot tamales. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leland “Doc” and Leah Bette Trevathan Minton.

Survivors include his wife, Liz Sauser Minton of the home;

1 daughter and son-in-law: Michelle and Ben Rise of Madison, Alabama;

1 son and daughter-in-law: Alan and Tammy Minton of Bono;

3 brothers and their wives: Scott and Mary Lou Minton of Little Rock, Joe and Donna Minton of North Little Rock, and Tim and Robin Minton of Bono; and

6 grandchildren: Leah Rise of St. Petersburg, Florida, Leland Rise, Luke Rise, Clint Rise and Lily Rise, all of Madison, and Kyle Minton of Bono.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Tony Sauser presiding. Burial will follow in Old Enterprise Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Leland, Luke and Clint Rise, and Kyle, Dean, Darren, and Greg Minton.

There will be no evening visitation.
