Dan White, 74, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born August 6, 1944 in Bono to the late Rubin White and Lyla (House) White. Dan served 20 years in the Navy, from September 11, 1962 to September 11, 1982, which included the Vietnam War and being stationed onboard the USS Enterprise, the USS King, the USS Joubert, the USS Gridley, and the USS Bainbridge and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, Dan worked 22 years for Computer Sciences Corporation as a computer engineer installing and testing navigational and guidance systems for Naval Destroyer ships.
He was raised in and around the St. Louis area and northeast Arkansas, then lived in San Diego, California for over 15 years, Medford, New Jersey for 4 years and Brunswick, Maine for 18 years before moving back to Jonesboro in 2005 in retirement.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Karen White; half-brother, David Hartley and half-sister, Debbie Hartley.
Survivors include his daughter, Denise White of Jonesboro.
