Dale Smith

Dale Smith, 80, of Jonesboro died Thursday December 16, 2010. He was born in Strawberry and lived in Jonesboro most of his life.

He was a retired maintenance mechanic for F.M.C. He was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ and was a former deacon at Southwest Church of Christ. He loved to fish and work in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Nettie B. Chappel Smith.

Survived by his loving wife of 61 years; Vernice Smith of the home.
Son; David Smith and wife Lisa of Jonesboro.

Daughter; Suzanne Barnett and husband Ben of Jonesboro.

Brother; Dewon Smith of Belvidere, Illinois.

5 grandchildren; Brad and Blake Barnett, Tennyson, Brody and Wyatt Smith.

2 great grandchildren; Avery and Wil Barnett.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday December 20, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with David Gibson and David Smith officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Wilkerson, Bill Harris, Bill Miles, Dexter Collins, Ken Young and Phillip Jones.

Visitation will be from 3-5:00 P.M. Sunday December 19, at Emerson Funeral Home.
