Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Wayne Dulaney, who passed away comfortably on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Dale was a hardworking man whose hands helped build shops, buildings, roads, and major highways throughout the years, but his greatest accomplishment was providing for and caring for his children. He dedicated his life to hard work, perseverance, and love for his family. A craftsman with both knowledge and skill, he spent his days working with his hands and his evenings sitting in his recliner with a cup of coffee close by.

He believed in earning an honest living and never shied away from hard work. Those who knew him knew he could be stubborn at times, serious when the moment called for it, but he always carried a sense of humor that could catch you by surprise.

Outside of work, Dale loved riding his motorcycle with a few close friends and spending time with his children, no matter what that looked like. Some of his favorite memories were the countless miles he spent hauling his youngest son to rodeos, spending every Thursday morning when his oldest child going to McDonalds, and faithfully showing up for pageants, cheer competitions, and other events for his daughter. Above all, one of his greatest joys was living long enough to welcome and love his precious grandchildren.

Those moments became treasured memories that his family will carry with them forever.

Above all else, Dale never placed conditions on loving someone unconditionally. Whether family, friend, or stranger, he loved people for who they were and met them where they stood.

He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought strength, stability, and unwavering love to those around him. While he may not have considered himself perfect, to those who loved him most, he was exactly that.

Dale is reunited in Heaven with his beloved parents, Jackie and Mozelle Dulaney; his sister, Debbie Wilson (Dulaney); his brother, Allen Dulaney; sister-in-law, Sharon Dulaney; niece, Mecca Dulaney; and many other loved ones who went before him, including the mother of his children. His family finds comfort in imagining the joyful reunion that awaited him.

He leaves behind his oldest son, Justin (Sarah) Dulaney; his only daughter, Shelby Dulaney (Davis); his youngest son, Paden Dulaney; and four cherished grandchildren, Atley, WhitLynn, Silas, and Ryzen. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark Dulaney, Greg (Ashley) Dulaney, and Gerald Dulaney; his nephew, Mitchell Dulaney; his niece, Sophie Dulaney; and his nephews, Tyler and Dillion Wilson, sons of his late sister, Debbie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kenny Jo Sullivan, Kenny Jo Sullivan, Jim Emerson, Logan Davis, Marty Digman, Allen Freer, Bruce O’Connor, Hunter Jarman, and Josh Pettit for their friendship, support, helping hands, and for simply being there when they were needed most.

All who knew and loved Dale will continue to honor his memory through the lessons he taught, the values he lived by, and the love he gave so freely.

Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment, every lesson, every laugh, and every memory. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the family he loved.

Until we meet again, Dad, we love you.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Emerson Funeral Home.
