Dailene Culbreath, 62, of Jonesboro died Sunday August 9, 2009 at her home.
She was born in and lived her lifetime in Jonesboro. Dailene served as office manager at Clopton Clinic for several years leading the employees and supporting the doctors in the growth of the firm from two to nineteen doctors. Dailene has been a strong fighter of cancer since 1984. In 1984, Dailene was diagnosed with cervical cancer and with breast cancer in 1995. Although chemotherapy treatments put her breast cancer into remission, it reappeared in her lungs in 1997. She subsequently had surgery to remove a large tumor in her right lung and three small pieces of tumors in her left. Then in 1999, she was diagnosed with brain cancer – twice. She was involved in the American Cancer Society of Craighead County and served as honorary survivor for the Relay For Life 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents Daily and Eva Bowman Hawkins, one brother Leroy (Sonny) Hawkins and one great granddaughter Emerald Ogden.
Dailene is survived by her husband Dural Culbreath of the home. Two sons; Tim Culbreath and wife Shelly of Paragould and Blake Culbreath and wife Jana of Jonesboro.
One brother; Jimmy Hawkins of Jonesboro and four sisters Lois Cohn of Tyler, Texas, Joy (Boogie) White of Lake City, Arkansas, Mary Verberg of Chicago, Illinois and Theresa Wilson of Mountain View, Arkansas.
Six grandchildren; Kassi Farmer and husband Josh, Brenna Culbreath and Chris, Christian Culbreath, Callie Culbreath, Cainan Culbreath and Dayli Culbreath.
Three great grandchildren; Ethan Ogden, Evan Ogden and Alec Zaharopoulos.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday August 12, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Stan Ballard and Dr. Kenneth Threet officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Active pallbearers Scotty Hawkins, Kavin Davis, Kevin Hoke, Dennis Hoke, Ricky Cohn and Lane Cohn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. O.H. Clopton, Dr. Richard Burns and the Doctors of Clopton Clinic.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Tuesday August 11, 2009 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
