Curtis Cope

March 16, 1925 — January 5, 2018

Curtis Cope, 92, of Gainesville, Missouri passed from this life on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born on March 16, 1925 to the late William and Mary Cope in Peach Orchard, Arkansas. Curtis is a United States Army Veteran and served during World War II. He was a member of the San Diego Bluegrass Club and played the fiddle for the group. Curtis enjoyed playing Dominos, gardening, and bird watching. In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by his wife, Veda Cope; brother, J.D. Cope; and sisters, Lola Jones, Myrtle Chappell, and Joetta Jones.

Curtis is survived by his sons, Larry Cope (Caroline Glenn) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Tom Cope (Marilyn) of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Ron Cope (Marilyn) of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Sue Allen (Jim) of Gainesville, Missouri . He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Nettleton Cemetery on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Jim Shaw officiating. The visitation will be held from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to the service at Emerson Funeral Home.
