Coyann McSwain, 78, of Jonesboro, died Friday, February 12, 2010, at her home of natural causes.
Born in Moberly, Missouri, Coyann lived in Jackson, Mississippi, before moving to Jonesboro where she lived most of her life. Coyann was a graduate of Central High School, Jackson, Mississippi, and Arkansas State University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
Coyann was a retired high school English teacher and taught in Weiner and Valley View Schools. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Stella Epping Reedy.
Survivors include her husband, Karl McSwain of the home;
1 son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Shelly McSwain of St. Louis;
3 daughters: Kathy McSwain, Kimberly Powell and Kris McSwain, all of Jonesboro;
3 grandchildren: Blake Powell, Brandon Powell and Rachel McSwain; and
1 great granddaughter, Lilly Grace Powell.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Vic Stepka officiating. Bob Houston will deliver the eulogy.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
