Cora Mae Merritt

Cora Mae Merritt, 93, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, December 30, 2022. She was born to the late Charles and Eva Simpson in Egypt, Arkansas on March 22, 1929. Cora enjoyed being outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening and yardwork. In addition to her parents, Cora is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Merritt; and sister, Lucille Rucker.

Cora is survived by her son, Danny Merritt; daughter, Claudette Couch; sisters, Belle VanHoozer, Mary Foley, and Faye VanHoozer; and grandchildren, Curtis Merritt (Cheryl), Dana Russell (Larry), Micah Huskey (Brian), and Lori Loggins (Clint).

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Herman Cemetery. The active pallbearers will be Josh Ward, Curtis Merritt, Drake Merritt, Tommy Russell, Cody Russell, and Bryan Huskey.
