Connie Simkowiak

Connie Hill Simkowiak, 68 of Brookland passed from this life at her home.  She was born September 23, 1948 to John and Lena Hannaford Blankenship in Jonesboro.  She was a housewife, she enjoyed camping and gardening, loved the Disney channel and her grandkids. She also enjoyed reading and she always had a shoulder to lean on.  Connie is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Stacy Nightengale, a sister, brother and her first husband, Jim Hill.

Survivors include her husband, James Simkowiak; daughter, Jamie Gilmer of Brookland; sons, Cody Simkowiak of the home and James Britt of Brookland;  brother, Leroy Blankenship of Batesville and sister Barbara Hill of Bay; grandchildren, Matthew Gilmer, Riley Gilmer, Saxton Gilmer, Taylor Gilmer and Jennifer Nightengale; and one great grandchild, Cohen Fike and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2017 from 2-4pm at Emerson Funeral Home.  Burial will be private.
