Connie Sue Howard, 77, departed this life on November 6, 2024, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Born to Cecil and Inez Robinson on March 20, 1947, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Connie was a lifelong resident of the Jonesboro area.
Connie was of the Southern Baptist faith and a member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and cooking and volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, where she brought comfort to many. Connie also worked for Jonesboro Public Schools until her retirement. Her greatest joy, however, was taking care of and spending time with her family.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Inez Robinson; her sisters, Annette Wells and Sharon Rainwater; and her brother, Ronnie Robinson.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Howard of the home; two sons, Johnie Howard Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Andrew "Andy" Howard of Lake City; two daughters, Janet Compere (John) of Jonesboro, and Diana Leonard (Patrick) of Hernando, Mississippi; two brothers, Kenneth Robinson of Wichita, Kansas, and Doug Robinson of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister, Rebecca McCracken (Lloyd) of Paragould; and three cherished grandchildren, Mary, Elizabeth, and Rachel Compere. Connie is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lake City Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. John Compere officiating.
