Connie Janell Banks

Connie Janell Banks, 70, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022. She was born to the late Estel and Mary Stevens on September 14, 1952 in Nettleton. Connie was a member of Friendship Assembly of God in Jonesboro and retired from Craighead Nursing Center after working for them for 24 years. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. Connie loved to share her love of Disney World with her family, especially her granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Stevens and Bernell Stevens; and grandson, Baby Jackson.

Connie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gary Banks of Jonesboro; son, Brian Banks of Jonesboro; daughter, Shelley Banks of Jonesboro; sisters, Ruby Kiech of Jonesboro, Rose Matthews of Memphis, Martha Burch of Harrisburg, Mary Irene O’Brien of Jonesboro; son-in-law, Christopher Jacobs; and her favorite granddaughter, Briana Jacobs. She also leaves behind a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 on Thursday morning.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. James Moore and Bro. Nathan Morse officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Joe Banks, Jeremy Banks, Matthew Banks, Tyler Crow, Raife Crum, Blaike Jones, and Kolton Jones. The honorary pallbearers will be Chris Jacobs, Chris Crum, and Ethan Brown.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or The Luke Kellums NICU Fund benefiting St. Bernards.
