Columbus (C.B.) Birdsell

Columbus (C.B.) Birdsell, 100, of Germantown, Tennessee died Tuesday January 7, 2014 with his daughter by his side at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown. He was born on October 1, 1913 in Fisher, Arkansas and was a lifelong resident of Poinsett and Craighead County. On October 1, 2013 he celebrated his 100th Birthday, receiving 158 cards and well wishes from family and friends.
He retired from Singer Manufacturing in Trumann and started working for Hytrol Conveyor Company in August 1970, retiring in October of 1978. He frequently recalled pleasant memories surrounding the Hytrol family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Birdsell, daughters; Carolyn Kiplinger, Janet Birdsell, one grandson; Randy Kiplinger and one great grandson; Tyler Birdsell.

Survived by his sons; Billy Birdsell and Bobby Birdsell (Brenda) all of Jonesboro.

Daughters; Hazel Kennedy of Germantown, Tennessee and Katherine Morris (Allen) of Beebe, Arkansas.

16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday January 10, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Everett Hart officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Friday January 10, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.
