Colin Edward McDonald, beloved husband of Irene Mary McDonald passed away on December 19 after a lengthy bout with cancer.
He was born in Bronx, New York and spent some of his boyhood years on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. He was schooled in both Nova Scotia and New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Colin Angus & Anna McClellan McDonald and two sisters, Gloria McKinnon and Doris Chromey.
He is survived by a brother Ronald McDonald of Washington State and a sister, Joyce Riedlinger of Long Island, New York. He is also survived by five children, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McDonald was an Army veteran as a vehicle equipment mechanic in the late 40’s in Japan. He worked for many years in the glass industry as a mechanical supervisor, traveling wherever he was needed. He was always busy in production engineering installation of equipment.
For the past ten years he was employed by Citadel Mini Storage of Jonesboro. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
