Clyde R. Morris, of Jonesboro, formerly of Blytheville, died Thursday at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He had been the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Manila, Lone Oak Baptist Church, Blytheville, Unity Baptist Church and Finch Baptist Church of Paragould, and Light Baptist Church, Light, Arkansas. He had also been the speaker for the “Word of Light” radio broadcast on KNEA for approximately fourteen years.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Wilson) Morris of the home; four sons, Roland Morris of Cotter, Phillip Morris, Hot Springs, Clifton Morris, Stuttgart, and Brad Clevenger, Jonesboro. He is also survived by two daughters, Pam Beckham, Ward, Penny (Clevenger) Cann, Clarksville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Lucy Morris; three brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Finch Cemetery with Reverend Winfred Bridges and Reverend Dennis Strope officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
