Clyde Armour Dunham was born January 17, 1927 at Paul’s Switch, Arkansas to Ralph and Orpha Wilson Dunham. He married Floye Eunice Britton on September 17, 1945. Clyde was a WWII veteran serving in Okinawa with the 47th Army Engineers.
He was head serviceman for ARKLA Gas Co. in Forrest City for many years where he was a charter member of the Forrest City Jaycees. He was instrumental in starting the little league baseball program and was commissioner of little league baseball.
Mr. Dunham moved to Mountain Home in 1961, where he was a businessman for 31 ½ years. He was a constable of Mountain Home Township. He served as an elder of the Church of Christ for several years, before retiring to Cherokee Village in 1993. He was a member of the Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy, Arkansas.
Mr. Dunham is survived by his wife, Eunice: one son Randy C. Dunham of Cherokee Village; one daughter Deborah K. Mooney (John) of Pocahontas, Arkansas; three grandchildren; Bridget Hann (Jeb) of Joplin, Missouri, David Dunham (Susan) of Jefferson City, Missouri and Jason Ellis of Springdale, Arkansas. He also leaves three great-granddaughters; Amber Ellis, Alexus Dunham and Zoe Ellis. He also is survived by one sister; Sue Broughton of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and one sister.
Mr. Dunham faithfully served our Lord for many years as a member of the Church of Christ, always staying true to the faith, serving with humility, compassion and loving kindness.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy, Arkansas, with L. Wayne Camp and Luell McCutcheon officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in Bono, Arkansas, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Lynxwiler, Danny Slayton, Paul Garner, Gerald Bolin, Jimmy Harrison and Hill Mangrum.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. Sunday until service time at the church.
Family request that lasting memorial be made to the Children’s Home in Paragould, Arkansas.
