Clyde E. Coleman

January 9, 1925 — June 19, 2024

Clyde E. Coleman died Wednesday, June 19th at the age of 99.

Clyde was born January 9, 1925 in Waldo, Arkansas, but grew up in Eudora, Arkansas. Clyde worked for AT&T from High School till he retired in 1986.  He met his wife, Jeanne Haynes Coleman, at AT&T.  After their marriage, they moved to Jonesboro where he lived for 62 years.   Clyde had a passion for gardening, which kept him active even into his 90’s.  Clyde loved hunting.  Clyde enjoyed collecting glass which led to work as an antique dealer. He was a member of the National Cambridge Collectors, looking forward to their Zoom sessions. Clyde was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church.  He served on the Board of Trustees, and sang in the Men’s choir.

Clyde was preceded in death by his loving wife Jeanne Coleman, his daughter Sharon Coleman; his sister Geraline Coleman; his brothers Hollis Coleman and Alan Coleman.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jo Ann Coleman (Brian Reddick) and Catherine Coleman (Martin Evans); grandson William Bowman; and nephews Bobby Coleman (Terri) and Keith Coleman (Ruby) and Niece Charline Kitson (Charles).  The Family would like to acknowledge his special friend Don Taylor and his wife, Jo Ann Taylor.  Don and Clyde were friends for over 20 years spending hours, gardening, hunting, and just hanging out.

The Family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, Aides, Therapists at St Bernard’s, St. Bernard’s Home Health and NEA Cancer Center for their loving devoted care. A special thanks for Revel Porter, M.D. and Susan Blair, M. D.  who gave him the quality of life to enjoy his 99 years.

The Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church Thursday, June 27th, at 11:30 am in Wesley Hall Foyer. A short service will follow at 12:15 in the Chapel.  The service will be casual. The Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to:
