Clovis Lynn McHalffey, 83, of Lake City passed from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at his home. He was born July 29, 1941 in Caraway to the late Cordie and S.D. McHalffey.
Clovis has lived in the Lake City area all of his life and was a member of Lunsford Baptist Church. In his years of farming, he was honored to be named Outstanding Young Farmer and Conservation Farmer of the Year for Craighead County.
In addition to his parents, Clovis is preceded in death by his brother, L.C. McHalffey.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Diane Pounds McHalffey of the home; son, Michael Lynn McHalffey of Lunsford; daughter, Dinah Carol McHalffey Jones (Keith) of Temple, Texas; sisters, Kathryn Sue McHalffey Martin (late husband Gary) of Cullman, Alabama, Sharon Kay McHalffey Strait (Donald) of Paragould; sisters-in-law, Lynnda Maxine Pounds Cannon (late husband Bud) of Jonesboro and Patricia Anne Pounds White (Curtis) of Russellville; his grandchildren, which were the joys of his life, Jeremy, Kathryn and Benjamin Jones as well as many dearly loved and cherished nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday February 14, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private at the request of the family.
