Clinton C. Mcelrath

September 26, 1928 — January 26, 2008

Clinton C. McElrath, 79, of Bono, died Saturday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center. He had lived in Bono for the past 30 years, moving there from Jonesboro. He was of the 7th Day belief. He had been a funeral director at Farmer’s Union Funeral Home in the 50s, and worked with the city utilities in Jonesboro and Mountain View, MO. Mr. McElrath used to drive 18 wheelers and was a retired contractor from B.B. Vance Construction Company. He loved to hunt but especially enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty McElrath; his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy & Shelly McElrath of Bono; his brothers, Bud McElrath, Smithville, Glenn McElrath, Troy, MO, Alvin McElrath, Bono; his sisters, Jean Browning, Jonesboro, Janis Brooks, Bono; and his granddaughter and her husband, Brandye & Dillon Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Claud & Lunetta Cline McElrath; his sisters, Wanda Lee Davis and Oleta McElrath.

A graveside service will be held Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bono, with Gary Creemens officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Dale Davis, Bobby Davis, Shannon Davis, Drew Davis, Sid Tidwell, Willie Brooks, and Donald Pyle.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
