Clifton Barber

September 23, 1913 — January 9, 2006

Clifton Barber, 92, of Jonesboro died Monday, January 9, 2005 at St. Elizabeth’s in Jonesboro. He was born in Jamestown, Arkansas and lived in the Jonesboro area all his life. He was the Food Service Supervisor at Arkansas State University and a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church.

He was a Master Mason and a Past Worshipful Master at the Lake City Lodge. He was a master gardener and had been a Sunday School teacher at the Lake City Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Ellen Barber, one son, Jim Barber and one daughter, Jan McKinney.

Funeral services will be 11:00 Thursday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bart Barber and David McKinney officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Grandsons and Sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. The Nettleton Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

A Graveside committal service will be at 3:00 Thursday at the Egner Cemetery near Salado, Arkansas.

For those wishing to leave lasting memorials, the family request you please consider the Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 at Emerson Memorial Chapel on Wednesday.
