Cliftee Miller Burgess, 78, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Forrest City Medical Center after suffering a major heart attack.
Cliftee was born in Friars Point, Mississippi on January 27, 1930, to Flnoy Miller and Alberta Miller. She moved to Jonesboro with her family in 1982.
She confessed hope in Christ at a very early age and was baptized at Silver Cloud Baptist Church, under Reverend S. W. Winn.
Cliftee was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro where she served on the Mother Board.
She is survived by her loving husband, Amos Burgess, her beloved father Flnoy Miller, 1 brother, 3 sisters, 10 children, 10 step children and a host of grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2008, at 1:00 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon at the church.
