Cletis Gibbs

Cletis G. Gibbs, 49, of Jonesboro, died on Saturday. He was born in Winona, Mississippi and had lived in Jonesboro since 1968. Cletis was a 1977 graduate of Nettleton High School. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business and attended Temple Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford & Zora Rowton Gibbs.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Rebecca Carpenter, Jonesboro; 2 brothers, Derring Gibbs, Jonesboro, Avondale Gibbs, Bono; his twin sister, Cynthia Gibbs, Jonesboro; his grandmother, Elma Gibbs, Lake City; and 2 aunts, Marie Tarpley, St. Louis, and Glenna Matheney, Jonesboro.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Jerry Jolly officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
