Cleroy Robert Hathcoat

Cleroy Robert Hathcoat, 87, of Brookland passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home with family by his side. He was born September 22, 1931 in Lunsford to the late John and Effie Hathcoat. Cleroy attended Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the deer cabin. Cleroy was a hard worker, he farmed when he was younger then went on to work for Orkin for several years. Cleroy later on became Co-Owner of H & M Garage of Jonesboro and Brookland. After retirement he had a wood working shop for many years. Cleroys favorite thing in life though was his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, Cleroy was preceded in death by his son, Richard Hathcoat; 2 grandchildren, TJ Hathcoat, Ashley Albert and 1 sister, Willadean Morgan.

Survivors include his wife of 64 ½ years, Effie Nix Hathcoat of the home; 4 daughters: Jeanene (Dennis) Albert of Jonesboro, Sandra (Greg) Johnson of Jonesboro, Melinda (Paul) Vincent of Cherokee Village, Angie (Kevin) Brown of Brookland; 2 sons, Tim (Janet) Hathcoat of Paragould, Mark (Sherry) Hathcoat of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Renee Hathcoat of Jonesboro; brother, Delbert Hathcoat of Brookland; 4 sisters: Mary Smith, Patsy Smith, Shirley Thompson all of Brookland, Kay Hardin Greenway of Jonesboro; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be Monday, December 24, 2018 at 11:00 am in Prospect Missionary Baptist Church with Paul Vincent and Mike Book officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with active pallbearers being grandsons and honorary pallbearers being son-in-laws.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am prior to the service.
