Clay Knight, 72, of Paul Switch, passed away Saturday April 4, 2009 at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born at Paul’s Switch on November 26, 1936, he was the son of S.W. (Dub) and Norine Knight. He attended school at Lanieve and graduated from Bono School in 1954. A lifelong farmer, he operated the Knight and Son grocery store in Paul Switch with his father for many years. He was a member of the Egypt Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, S.W. (Dub) and Norine Knight and one great grandson, Caden Boling.
Clay leaves behind his wife of fifty five years, Helen Kim Knight of the home. Five sons, Ronnie Knight and wife Anita of Walnut Ridge, Byron Knight and wife Judy of Jonesboro, Kevin Knight ,Kerry Knight and wife Melonie and Micah Knight and wife Carla all of Paul’s Switch.
Seventeen Grandchildren, Angela Brady, Eric Knight, Keith Knight, Justin Knight, Kimberly Knight, Christopher Knight, Rebecca Knight, Elizabeth Knight, Samantha Knight, Sabrina Knight, Kristina Knight, Hannah Knight ,Brayden Knight, Anna Claire Mitchell, Jennifer Huggins, Kevin Davis and Michelle Davis.
Six great grandchildren, Seth Knight, Landon knight, Chastin Knight, Jaxton Brady, Kayla Huggins, Jayden Huggins. Three sisters, Pat Scott and husband Roger of Jonesboro, Connie Simpson and husband Julius Ralph III of Bono and Jelina Baxter and husband William of Jonesboro and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 7, at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with G.W. Allison officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in Bono, with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Clay’s grandsons, Keith Knight, Justin Knight, Eric Knight, Kevin Davis, Jared Brady and William Baxter.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday April 6, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
