Clarence Chester Shipman

Clarence Chester Shipman, 79, of Jonesboro, died February 28, 2013, at St Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Paragould on January 28, 1934 to the late R.L. and Goldie Reece Shipman. Clarence had lived in Jonesboro for 9 years, moving here from Brookland. He was retired from the Crane Company, farming and construction. He was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents; Clarence was preceded in death by his grandson; Kyle Shipman and brother, George Henry Shipman.
Survived by his wife; Pansy Shipman of the home.

Sons; Wayne Shipman and wife; Darlene and Terry Shipman Sr. and wife; Becky both of Jonesboro.
Daughter; Karen Griffin and husband; Charles of Jonesboro.

Brothers; Herbert Shipman and Wilson Shipman both of Brookland.

Sisters; Le Verty Lewis of Brookland, Helen Hale of Lake City and Linda Morgan of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Grandchildren; Melissa McDaniel, Mashae Shipman, Terry Shipman Jr., McKenzie Griffin and Jake Shipman.

One great granddaughter; Eviegale McDaniel.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 3, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with David Gibson and Michael Meredith officiating. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Active pallbearers will be Terry Shipman, Jr., Jake Shipman, Von McDaniel, Bryan Shipman, Barry Hale, Kevin Green, and Ronnie Green.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Dooley, Ed Guest, Granville Guest, Randy Simpkins, Terry Smith, and Jim Kimbrough.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00
P.M. Saturday March 2, at Emerson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers family requests that lasting memorials be made to the Valley View Church of Christ Missionary Fund, 4500 Southwest Drive, Jonesboro, 72401.
