Clara Sharlene Johnson

Clara “Sharlene” Johnson, 58, of Bono passed from this life on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. She was born to the late Luther and Mary Moss on February 5, 1966 in Memphis. Sharlene was of the Baptist belief and enjoyed everything outdoors, from gardening and watching her hummingbirds to traveling with her significant other, Richard. She also enjoyed spending time with her classmates from the 1984 class of Bay High School. Family was the most important aspect of Sharlene’s life. Her favorite things in life revolved around her daughters and her grandchildren. She LOVED her “girl days” and looking for a deal at Goodwill with her daughters. In addition to her parents, Sharlene is preceded in death by her adoptive parents who raised her from a young age, Walter and Virginia Davis; brothers, Dale Moss and Doyle Moss; and sisters, Marty Toth, Christine Moss, and Martha Curtis.

Sharlene is survived by her daughters, Bridgette Bachleiter (John) of Manilla and Sherry Bushong of Jonesboro; son, Richey Burton (Casey) of Bay; brothers, Gary Moss of Little Rock, Trent Moss of Alabama, Carl Davis of Texas, and Jimmy Davis of Texas; sisters, Teresa Powers of Bono, Sheila Stutts of Alabama, Cathy McClendon of Alabama, Loretta Bushong of Conway, Janice Moss of Alabama, and Rose Meloy of Texas; grandchildren, Alex Sponer, Elijah Sponer, Conner Bushong, Addison Bushong, and Lennox Bushong,. Sharlene also leaves behind a host of other family and friends to mourn her loss.

The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Emerson Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow on Friday beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Jim Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Brent Copeland, Boyd McMasters, Billy Smith, Jeff Mizell, Carl Davis, and Jimmy Davis. The honorary pallbearers will be the 1984 graduating class of Bay High School.
