Clara Nell House

Clara Nell House, 78, of Brookland, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. She was born April 20, 1943 to the late Elmer and Margaret Simons.

Clara lived most of her life in the Brookland area and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She loved her church and loved the Lord. Clara was a people person and was loved by many, whom she also loved. But Clara’s greatest joy was spending time with and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her husband of almost 54 years, Will Gaylon House and a son, Gerald Edward House.

She is survived by her son, William (Lisa) House of Jonesboro; daughters, Susan (Terry) Wooten of Lowell and Cynthia Jones of Mountain Home; brothers, Johnny Simons of Paragould and Lloyd (Fran) Simons of Walnut Ridge; sister, Patricia Gossett of Walnut Ridge as well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 from 1-2 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm with Robbie McMasters officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Scott Wooten, Gaylon Jones, Matt Jones, Chris Knight, Brandon Simons and J.R. Simons. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Wooten, Terry Hobbs and Nathan Nelson.
