Christy Sugg Moery

June 13, 1969 — December 17, 2013

Christy Ann Sugg Moery completed the race set before her on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, peacefully passing away of natural causes at her home in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Christy’s was an abundant life, filled and overflowing with faith, love, passion, and energy. She lived life as a selfless servant with a deep, abiding, and unshakeable faith in God, Family, and Friends. Christy was first and foremost a child of God and then a Mother. Her unconditional and limitless love shaped the development of three amazing children who now stand as a living testament to the amazing power of a Mother blessed by God and of a life well-lived. Christy’s heart was big enough to share even more. She was a caring and devoted daughter, a best friend to her brother and sisters, a loving and sharing aunt, and a loyal confidant to all who were blessed to call her friend.

Christy had an insatiable appetite for life; she was a true renaissance woman with a breadth and depth of interests and skills rarely seen. Professionally, she was a highly respected Registered Nurse. Musically, Christy was an extraordinarily talented singer, pianist, guitarist, writer, artist, and crafter. Somehow, she still found the energy and time to become a passionate reader, accomplished cake decorator, and home interior designer. All the while, she continued to enjoy an active lifestyle, excelling as an avid runner, bicyclist, scuba diver, and snow skier.

On June 13, 1969, Christy was born in Wynne, Arkansas. After graduating from Wynne High School in 1987, Christy then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from West Texas A&M University in 1992. She then travelled extensively, finding success in multiple health care settings before making Jonesboro her home over 10 years ago. She quickly established herself as a highly respected pulmonary and critical care nurse who stood out as a caring, supportive advocate for her patients and a trusted advisor to her medical colleagues. Literally touching and improving thousands of lives, Christy flourished in the role of a servant to others until the end.

While it is impossible to list all those who loved and will mourn Christy, her surviving Family members include:
Her eldest son, Burke Sanders, 26, of Jonesboro, Arkansas
Her second son, Alex Moery, 20, of Wynne, Arkansas
Her daughter, Autumn Moery, 13, of Jonesboro, Arkansas
Her parents, Jim and Lou Sugg of Wynne, Arkansas
Her brother, Jimmy Sugg of Wynne, Arkansas
Her sisters, Kathy Davis of Lubbock, Texas; Jan Murphy of New Braunfels, Texas; and
Judy Miller of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington
Her dogs, Goldie and Shasta and Grand-dogs Thumper, Zazu, Drake, and Leah

Christy bequeathed to each of us a message of hope, joy, and dedication, and a legacy of peace and love that will assist us in honoring her memory and her life.

Visitation will be Friday, December 20th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Emerson Funeral home in Jonesboro, AR.
