Christy L. Ellison Partain, 61, of Elk City, OK, passed from this life on Monday, January 20, 2014 in Elk City. Born in Lake Charles, LA, to the late Tommy and Anna J. Brown, she spent much of her life in Jonesboro before moving to Oklahoma fourteen years ago. Christy was a Southern Belle who loved Gone with the Wind, Doris Day movies and her American Heritage. Christy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles W. Brown.

Christy began her career working for the FBI in Washington D. C. After moving back home to Arkansas some time later, she spent many dedicated years working as the national sales manager for Duke Enterprises. Christy retired after working for Hertz Cooperate Rentals in Oklahoma City. She was of the Baptist belief and was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church while living in Jonesboro.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Partain of Elk City; children David Ellison and Angela (Todd) Ellison Smith and grandchildren Sean and Blake Smith, all of Jonesboro; Stepchildren Elizabeth Wood, Elijah Partain, Josh Partain and Emily Thompson, with many step-grandchildren, all of Oklahoma; Sister Brandee Brown Roberson of Caraway and brother David Brown of Texas.

Celebrations of her life will be at 10:00 A.M Friday January 24, 2014 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Blackwood officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Friday January 24, at Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ellison, Jessie Hager, Brian Scott, Bennie Ross, Jason Cottingham and Jason Dover.
