Christy Dawn Hughes

Christy Dawn Hughes, 47, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at St Bernard’s Medical Center. She was born July 13, 1973 to Petrina Cox and the late William David Thomas. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents and four aunts.

Christy lived her entire life in Jonesboro. When she was younger, she and her sister would spend time fishing at their own pond. She had an affinity for owls. Later in life, Christy was an avid fan of attending concerts. She saw shows like the Warped Tour, and bands like Breaking Benjamin and Heart. Most importantly, Christy loved spending time with her family, especially her little hoots.

Christy is survived by her daughter, Jaycee Hughes of Jonesboro; her son, Timothy Paul Hughes (Courtney) of Cave City; her sister, Carla Thomas-Nicely (Doyne) of Jonesboro; her mother, Petrina Thomas of Jonesboro; three little hoots, Haelyn, Johnathan, and Koda-Bugg; and one nephew, Travis, and two nieces, Magen and Madison.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 1 to 2 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel. A service will directly follow at 2 pm. Burial will be private.

Due to COVID 19 guidelines, a facemask must be worn while at the visitation and service.
