Christopher John Charette, 55, of Jonesboro died Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born on June 26, 1967 in Denver, Colorado, to Francis “Jack” and Beth Marcotte. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1985, moving here from Warren Township, New Jersey. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. While attending Arkansas State University he was a member of the Sig Ep Fraternity. As an avid Hunter and fisherman, he spent many hours enjoying these hobbies. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s soccer team. He worked at Arkansas State University in the maintenance department as a supervisor. He had previously worked as the assistant manager of Fred P. Gattas, and in the commercial sales department at Lowes. He was the owner of Quacker Jack Custom Duck Calls and enjoyed woodworking and stock car racing. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, USAF Colonel (Dr) Frank L. Kaufman; maternal grandmother, Mae Elizabeth Kaufman; paternal grandparents, Del and Maxine Marcotte; father and step-mom, “Jack” and Karen Marcotte; and sister, Shannon Dome.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Angie Charette of the home; son, Zach Charette and wife Sydney of Jonesboro; mother, Beth Charette, and step-father, Louis Charette of Townsend, Tennessee; brother, Evan Marcotte and wife Lana of Bradenton, Florida; step-grandmother, Odette J. Kaufman of Sacramento; and in-laws, Jack B. and Martha Gammon.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Emerson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Adcox officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Bryan Privett, David Hicks, Steve Gillis, Lynn Buhler, Mark Moody and Jeff Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Robson, Dave Atherton, Joe Thornton, Craig Moone, Wes Bradley, and Tracy Miller.
